“ YUM & YESSS! We are brand new to Newport and are so happy we stumbled upon this place as one of our first experiences! We have our doggie so we love pet friendly patio places, which is certainly the case here. We were first greeted at the door and welcomed to the patio. Within moments, we received a carafe of cucumber lemon water that was poured for us as we ordered our drinks. We were very happy with the lemon basil and huckleberry ciders but even more impressed with the food! We shared the coconut mahi-mahi with a pineapple beer sauce but not before we enjoyed the amazingly delicious Challah bread. It’s a house made, herb & cheese infused thick sliced toasty bread that was sooo tasty paired with the home made tomato bisque. Our service was great both times as not only was she efficient, but made sure to describe the menu very thoroughly, making sure we knew that most everything is made in house. And you can taste it! ((That garlic aioli thoooo)) The aesthetic is a modern, fun, bright and welcoming environment with beautiful artwork, local features, and comfortable seating both inside and out. There’s even live music on Fridays and Saturdays which enhances the relaxing atmosphere in a great way. We’ve been here 2 weeks and already visited twice! We still need to return on a night that we’re hungry for dessert bc that brownie sundae will be worth it! Very much recommended. ”

“ Brownells’ in Newport, Washington is a hidden gem, although you’ve likely driven by on your way to Priest Lake or one of the many recreation points along Pend Oreille River. The food is upscale and homemade, with an exquisite attention to flavor and detail. I ordered the Coco Mahi, as our recent vacation in Maui left me longing for island flavors. Not only did it hit the mark, it rivaled similar dishes I ate on the island. My husband enjoyed The Original Gangster (epic smash burger with a house made Challah bun). Brownells’ is not only a local favorite, but a first-choice recommendation from locals like us. Service is spot-on, too, and summer weekends on the patio often feature live acoustic tunes. ”

“ Super spot. Friendly service. Homemade burger buns? Yes. Brand new menu according to our server/hostess. Husband got a shrimp appetizer and enjoyed it. He also shared my fries which were bomb. Burger was great. Cucumber/lemon water was refreshing. Would recommend to all. Cute couple with a young child came in so family friendly. Seemed like everyone was having a good experience. I did ask for no Mayo on my burger which they accommodated. Definitely will go back if I’m in the area. ”

“ When I first saw the sign out front and it said something with tofu I got the wrong impression of the food they served. We decided one day to try it out. So glad we did. The food is phenomenal! The menu is small enough to keep things simple while still having enough variety to please most people. Menu changes quarterly (don't quote me on that being the time frame for sure but something close to that.) Prices are a bit high but reasonable and worth it. I have been full and had leftovers after ever meal there. I fully recommend this place. Oh and there was only one tofu menu item so my previous viewpoint was wrong. ”

“ I’ve been here a handful of times, but each time I’m blown away by the delicious food. The chicken strippers have me in a chokehold and I don’t know how I can be surprised by how exquisitely the flavors come together, but here we are! We’ve experienced a few date nights with live acoustic guitar in the background, not too loud, just perfect. Everything we’ve tried has been outstanding, but the chicken strippers keep us coming back. Don’t sleep on this place! 10/10 ”

“ Had one of the best burgers I've ever had at Brownells. First off, the service is absolutely fantastic. They are so nice, so attentive, and very welcoming. A few seconds after I sat down, they served me cucumber/lemon water that tasted so good; I'm going to start doing that at home now. They have a great selection of beers & wines. As this was the first time I've eaten there, I had their signature burger that was absolutely amazing. The fries that came with it were perfectly seasoned and so good. There is outdoor seating so bring Fido on those sunny days! The outdoor patio has plenty of seating with umbrellas to block the sun. The indoor area is very clean and is an open space; but doesn't get too loud. Plenty of room between tables so this is great for those in a wheelchair or walker. There is a back room that is a little more private if you're on a date night. This has become my new favorite place in Newport WA and I will be a frequent customer. ”

The owner, Shari is personable and very attentive to your needs. The restroom was clean and modern. There is an outside dining area as well. ”

“ I've been dinning here since August, 2023 and have the utmost appreciation for the food, service and owners! Every meal I've tried so far has been exquisite! Breakfast on Saturday morning is terrific...biscuits and gravey, French Toast, omelets, it's all fantastic! Today I had their lunch special, a Rib-Eye Steak Sandwich with there crispy French fries. Wow! They have the best desserts, without a doubt. I enjoy bringing my friends along, as I know they'll not be disappointed. I highly recommend this establishment. ”
